Hey everyone! It’s Kitty, and I just had the weirdest but most fun day ever at Flip Out in Canary Wharf. It’s not like any place I’ve ever been, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

The First Look

When we got there, I was a bit surprised because Flip Out is located in an underground car park! It was kind of strange but also cool because it felt like a secret hideout. As we walked in, the first thing I noticed was the sound of kids laughing and having fun echoing through the place. It is important to note that Flip Out at Canary Wharf does NOT have trampolines. This is because of the low ceilings of the space. However, other Flip Out locations have these.

Skating Chaos

I was super excited to try the roller rink first. But guess what? There were no staff members around to help, and there were skates abandoned everywhere! Finding a matching pair was like a treasure hunt. After searching through a pile of skates, I finally found two that fit, but they were different colours. It made me look like a rainbow roller girl! They also have support frames for those who are unbalanced, these look like Zimmerframes on wheels – LOL! 🤣

Crazy Bikes

Next up were the crazy bikes. These bikes are so wacky! They have weird shapes and sizes, and some of them even go sideways. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but once I did, it was hilarious! My brothers, cousin and I raced around, drifting around the bends and laughing our heads off! My little brother fell off his trike on one of the bends, which was so funny – he wasn’t hurt, though – he just got straight back on and continued to ride.

Bumper Cars Bonanza

Then, I headed over to the bumper cars. This was one of my favourite parts! The bumper cars are on inflatable bases, like a hovercraft. They were super fast and had cool lights that flashed when you bumped into someone. My cousin and I had an epic battle, crashing into each other and spinning around. I couldn’t stop giggling!

Donut Slide Delight

After the bumper cars, we tried out the donut slide. These are big inflatable rings that you sit in as you slide around the track at speed. It was like being in a giant bouncy donut! It took a few tries to figure out how to get enough speed to get around the slide without stopping. We did 180* and 360* spins as we slid around the track. It was so much fun and a great way to take a break from all the craziness.

Laser Quest Adventure

The best part of the day was definitely the laser quest. It’s like being in a real-life video game! We got these cool laser guns and vests and ran around in a dark maze, trying to tag each other. There were glowing lights and fog, which made it even more exciting. I felt like a secret agent on a mission!

Sensory Overload

We were there for a 3-hour session, which was plenty of time to try everything. From a neurodiverse perspective, Flip Out can be a bit much for more sensitive types. The lights, sounds, and all the action can be sensory overload. My brothers, who are Autistic and have ADHD, were okay because we had prepared in advance. We looked at the website to know what to expect and came up with strategies to manage any overwhelm. We made sure to take breaks in quiet corners and had a plan for what to do if it got too much.

Snack Break

After all that running and playing, I was starving. The only food they had was hotdogs, crisps, and overpriced candyfloss. I got a hotdog and some crisps. The hotdog was actually pretty good, but I skipped the candyfloss because it was way too expensive. They also had slushies in four different flavours—bubblegum was my favourite.

The End of an Amazing Day

Before I knew it, it was time to go home. Even though it was a bit chaotic and different from what I expected, I had a blast. Flip Out is definitely a wild and wacky place, perfect for kids who love adventure and a bit of craziness.

If you’re up for a unique and fun experience, you should totally visit Flip Out in Canary Wharf. It’s unlike any other place, and you’ll have a story to tell for sure!
